William Hedrington, 1947–1971
The Novo Collegian Alliance is honored to steward this collection on behalf of the alumni who remember and cherish Bill's life and work, ensuring his poetry remains accessible to the New College community in perpetuity. New College has always been defined as much by its people as its curriculum — the newsletters, the traditions, the arguments, the art. Since the 2023 takeover, a lot of that record has become vulnerable: scattered, unmanaged, or at risk of being quietly lost.
Tabularium Axis Mundi is TAM: a living digital collection and, eventually, a physical repository built to gather and safeguard that history. Stories, memorabilia, images, publications, and the everyday artifacts of student life all have a place here, contributed by the people who lived it: students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
It's a long-term project, built deliberately and in phases, starting small and growing as the collection and the community around it grow with it.
Tabularium Axis Mundi is an independent project of the Novo Collegian Alliance which is not affiliated with, overseen by, or funded by New College of Florida. Like the NCA itself, TAM is run entirely by volunteers: alumni and community members giving their time to appraise donations, build out the collection, and keep the project moving. There's no institutional backing and no grant funding behind this work — it runs on community support, plain and simple.
